The Peacock House
Palm Springs, California, United States 92262
For the cool cats looking for the true mid-century modern vibe that Palm Springs is known for, this is the pad for you. This 1947 house was lovingly decorated with beautiful vintage finds. The retro furniture, art, dishes and yes, even a pink toilet to make you feel like you've stepped back in time. Drink your martini at the shiny living room bar and imagine you're an old Hollywood star like Frank Sinatra or Hedy Lamarr who once called this neighborhood home. Can you dig it?
You'll be made in the shade in the sought-after Movie Colony East neighborhood, which is close to everything -- whether you want to get your kicks downtown or keep it copacetic with the 22-acre Ruth Hardy Park and popular hiking trails.
This three-bedroom, two-bathroom home comfortably sleeps six. It has everything you need, including WiFi and a large desk just in case you need to "work from home." This home boasts a spacious yard with a giant saltwater pool and plenty of lounging and seating areas.
Cook dinner on the gas grill, sit around the fire pit or enjoy the hippest hot tub you'll find (if a hot tub was a disco, this would be it). Enjoy beautiful mountain views and plentiful palm trees while listening to the sounds of a soothing rock waterfall that flows into the pool. Use the seasonal fruit from the yard's lemon, lime and orange trees to make fresh juice or garnish your cocktails. A vacation here is guaranteed to put you on cloud nine.
The home's decor includes many appearances of the peacock, which symbolizes beauty and refinement, hence the perfect namesake for this unique and unforgettable place. Don't be a square when in Palm Springs. Stay at The Peacock House and feel like daddy-O.

It was a great stay at the Peacock house. We appreciated all the vintage/retro touches and the close proximity to downtown, but the outdoor space is what really makes the property so great.
The house was the best. So clean and everything updated and fresh. THe house was located next to everything with beautiful views of the mountains. Joan was great to work with. Stayed at a few places in PS this place by far was the best. Big pool and great bathrooms and bedrooms with TVs in all rooms. Pearly
Everything is fantastic here. The retro vibes, the backyard, pool, spa, location. Great time
Lovely house with a very attentive host and great communication. Had a relaxing trip and was very comfortable. The pool is a dream and the garden is stunning.
We loved staying at Joan’s Peacock House. It was very clean and had everything we needed. We were able to just walk in, sit back, and relax by the pool. Great location - an easy 2 minute drive to downtown PS. Nice mountain views as well.
We enjoyed the Peacock House. It was clean and nicely setup for our arrival. The backyard and pool are very nice. Rooms were comfortable. All of Palm Springs is accessible by bike from here, and we took advantage of it every day. The house had a great layout, and the flow easily takes you outside to a nice patio and covered table area - all shaded in the late afternoon for hanging out. They have nice gardens and landscaping as well.
Joan's house was perfect in every way and exceeded our expectations. We can't wait to stay at this same property again! The house was so clean, close to restaurants, stores, and more... and incredibly easy to find.
This place was fantastic! The house is the perfect combination of vintage design and modern upgrades. The landscaping is stunning and the big backyard is a dream to lounge in. I could have spent all day by the pool. The location is close to shops and restaurants but removed enough that you can have some peace and quiet. Check in/out was super easy and the host was easily available by text. I wish we could have stayed longer!
Joan, the host, is very nice and helpful. The house is nice, especially the outside area, which made our visit so relaxing! The house is in good condition and a good location - only about a mile or so to the town. It is a good getaway for a small group or family
This is an adorable house with great amenities in a convenient near-downtown location. The owners have paid attention to so many mid-mod details and the decor is amazing! We would definitely stay here again!
